The importance of like mindedness

As an artist have you ever felt different from the norm? Have you ever thought that people look at you and say, “what are they doing?” We have and we must admit for good reason. How many people do you know who look over the sweet potato selection for the most interesting shape, how many people do you know who stand in a ditch harvesting flax to  make paper out of, how many households in Cheyenne have a buffalo and deer hide as well as a 250 lb chunk of alabaster in their backyard? Well we’ve done all this and more!

Last night we met with some other artists in town for the first of what I hope will be many more gatherings for the purpose of discussion, learning, sharing and of course eating! No one in that group found any of the things we do to be completely weird. Fact is they all have their own adventures in weirdness stories so…..if you don’t have a group of like minded folks you meet with no matter what your passion is, you should. It does a body good!
